Xbox Game Pass September 2026 Wave 1 Confirms Shelldiver, Moonlighter 2, SpeedRunners 2, and Dune: Awakening on Day One
Microsoft has locked in nine titles for Xbox Game Pass in September 2026, with Shelldiver launching today and Moonlighter 2, SpeedRunners 2, Dice a Million, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage, RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Dune: Awakening, Well Dweller, and Minecraft Dungeons 2 following through the month.

Microsoft has filled out its September 2026 Xbox Game Pass schedule with nine confirmed arrivals across two waves, kicking off today with Shelldiver on console, PC, and cloud and running all the way through Minecraft Dungeons 2 on September 29. The lineup is anchored by four day-one launches — Shelldiver, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed, and Dune: Awakening — and topped up later in the month with Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage, RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Well Dweller, Dice a Million, and the Minecraft spin-off sequel.
Gagonfe's cozy incremental Shelldiver is live today, September 1, on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass after the solo developer self-ported the jellyfish-hunting turtle sim from Steam, where it originally launched on November 16, 2025. The Xbox version is optimized for Xbox Series X|S and supports Smart Delivery and Xbox Play Anywhere, so saves carry between console, handheld, and PC. Shelldiver arrives in Game Pass alongside a separate Xbox Store page that lets non-subscribers buy it as well.
A day later, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault leaves Early Access for its full 1.0 release and arrives simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The dungeon-crawling shopkeeper RPG from Digital Sun and publisher 11 bit studios makes its Xbox console debut on September 2, with Xbox Wire's "Next Week on Xbox" calendar slotting it as a day-one Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass addition. The studio will follow it up with a physical edition distributed by Silver Lining Interactive on November 13.
SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed follows on September 3 with what tinyBuild and developer Fair Play Labs originally planned as a July Game Pass drop before slipping into the September window. The sequel keeps the original's momentum-based platform racing and stretches online lobbies to eight players, with a new high-octane campaign and boss battles rounding out the package for players who would rather not race other humans. SpeedRunners 2 ships day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, on top of its standalone release on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
September 4 brings the roguelike deckbuilder Dice a Million to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on Xbox Series X|S and cloud, after the indie originally surfaced on the service earlier in 2026 outside the Premium tier. SEGA then rounds out the first wave with Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage on September 10, a day that also brings the long-promised Xbox PC version of the fighting remaster. Producer Seiji Aoki confirmed the Game Pass date during Gamescom 2026, and the Xbox release ships with rollback netcode, cross-play support, and a new single-player World Stage mode.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds closes out Wave 1 on September 15, picking up the open-world survival MMO from its previously announced Game Pass launch window. Funcom's Dune: Awakening then headlines Wave 2 on September 22 with the first fully single-player version of the survival RPG, covering the entire campaign from start to finish without requiring multiplayer. The console release arrives the same day on Xbox Series X|S and PC and on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with a Well Dweller Metroidvania also joining the service that day.
Minecraft Dungeons 2 brings the month to a close on September 29, picking up where the 2020 Mojang and Double Eleven dungeon crawler left off as a first-party action-RPG sequel. It lands on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and cloud, alongside PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 releases at $29.99 for anyone buying it outright instead of subscribing.

Microsoft typically publishes its monthly wave announcements in two batches, so additional titles are expected before the month wraps. The Game Pass library page on Xbox Wire and the Game Pass catalog remain the most reliable sources for live updates.
