Terminus: Zombie Survivors 2 Revealed as Open-World Sequel to Longplay's 150,000-Seller

Longplay Studios has officially pulled the curtain on Terminus: Zombie Survivors 2, the open-world sequel to the indie studio's turn-based survival roguelike that has sold more than 150,000 copies on Steam since 2024. The reveal was published on September 2, 2026, alongside a live Steam store page and a press release from the Daejeon, South Korea-based team.

Where the original Terminus: Zombie Survivors used top-down pixel art and turn-based combat, the sequel moves the series into a fully explorable 3D open world with an isometric camera. Survivors now have to scavenge and cook food, keep a fire burning through rain and snow, and rely on a flashlight beam once the sun goes down. The setting is a small American-style town and the lonely roadside stops around it, including motels, diners, gas stations, supermarkets, churches, and hospitals, each hiding supplies, dangers, and traces of the people who didn't make it. Exploration stretches from the town center out to the woods and highways beyond.

The dead arrive in every shape the studio could fit in: a lone shambler in a hallway, crowds in the streets, and far larger things that, in the developer's words, "shouldn't exist." The entire game is playable solo or with friends in online co-op. Localizations will cover English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, and French.

"For the sequel, we went deeper into survival itself: what it actually takes to stay fed, warm, and alive when the world is gone. Every system in the game is designed to make that struggle matter," lead developer Shin In-geon said in the official announcement.

The first Terminus: Zombie Survivors won the Indie Game Award at the 2024 Korea Game Awards and has been supported through post-launch updates including the 2025 "Last Escape" DLC. Longplay Studios is also working on a separate business management simulation, FD's Industry Tycoon. Longplay has not yet announced a release date or pricing for the sequel; the studio says the Steam page is open for wishlists while development continues.
