RuneScape: Dragonwilds Leaves Early Access and Launches on PS5, Xbox and Switch 2 Today

Jagex: The RuneScape Company's open-world co-op survival crafting game RuneScape: Dragonwilds exits Steam Early Access today, September 15, 2026, with its full 1.0 release arriving simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The Cambridge studio confirmed today's launch in its official press release, alongside pre-launch coverage on its own RuneScape: Dragonwilds news site that detailed the Switch 2 Game Chat integration and crossplay support across all platforms.

The full release ships with the brand-new Scorned Wilderness update and all content from the previously released Umbral Sands expansion, including the new dragon Fuzan the Blazing Tyrant, magic-carpet mounts, and Adamant, Red Dragonhide, and Yew crafting tiers. Today's full launch also activates Chinese (simplified), Japanese and Korean language support across the game for the first time.

Console editions of RuneScape: Dragonwilds are launching day one on Xbox Game Pass and on the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers. Jagex confirmed the Xbox Game Pass day-one availability on August 19, while the PlayStation Plus inclusion was outlined in the official PlayStation Blog coverage of the September Game Catalog on September 9. Standard and Deluxe physical editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will follow in Q4 2026.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds passed one million sales during its Early Access period, according to Jagex, and the studio has framed the 1.0 release as the beginning of a longer roadmap rather than an endpoint. Players can pick up the title on PC today via Steam or Epic, or jump in on PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Switch 2 with their active Xbox Game Pass or PS Plus Extra / Premium subscription.
