Playground Games Reiterates Forza Horizon 6 PS5 Launch Is Still on Track for 2026
Playground Games has told PlayStation 5 owners that Forza Horizon 6 is still on track to release on Sony's console later this year, repeating the same wording in its latest British Automotive blog post despite earlier reports that the port had slipped into 2027.

Playground Games has reiterated that Forza Horizon 6 is still on track for a 2026 release on PlayStation 5, pushing back against recent reports that the long-awaited port had been quietly pushed into 2027.
In the official British Automotive series blog post published on September 7, the studio addresses PlayStation fans at the bottom of the announcement: "If you're planning your trip to Discover Japan on PlayStation 5, stay tuned! Forza Horizon 6 will be releasing on PS5 later this year, and you can add the game to your Wishlist on the PlayStation Store to be notified of availability." The post is dated September 7, 2026, and is signed off by Playground Games.
The reassurance comes roughly a week after The Verge's Tom Warren reported that he no longer expected the PS5 version to ship in 2026, given the silence from the studio and the absence of any DLC drop for the title so far. The same wording about a 2026 PS5 launch has now appeared in multiple Playground Games posts since the game first debuted on Xbox Series X|S and PC back in May, and the studio has stuck to that script again this week.
Forza Horizon 6's PS5 launch has not been pinned to a specific date. Playground Games has been rolling out free updates for the Xbox and PC versions, and the Drift Attack mode that went live at Shimanoyama Circuit on September 7 will be a permanent fixture on PS5 as well. Two paid expansions for the title are also planned, leaving open the possibility that the PS5 release could land alongside the first major DLC drop rather than on its own.
PlayStation 5 owners who want to be notified the moment the game is dated can wishlist it now on the PlayStation Store.
