Nexon Officially Renames Project RX to FAREIDOLIA, Locks New Trailer for Tokyo Game Show 2026

Nexon Games has officially renamed its long-teased Project RX to FAREIDOLIA, ending months of speculation around the anime-style role-playing game developed by the studio's in-house RX Studio within the IO Division. The official title reveal was published today on the project's dedicated social channels, including a new post from the official @Fareidolia_EN account on X (formerly Twitter).

According to Nexon's announcement, FAREIDOLIA is set in a nostalgic small town where players spend time with girls who possess special powers. A new trailer has been locked in for September 17, 2026, as part of Nexon's Tokyo Game Show 2026 presentation, and the company will recreate a slice of the in-game location, Tasogare Hall, at its booth for the show's public days. Attendees will be able to play a hands-on demo, take on a rock-paper-scissors mini-game against one of the characters, and pick up event-exclusive merchandise including a clear file, an original cooling towel and a 15 cm pin badge for completing the demo.

FAREIDOLIA is being built in Unreal Engine 5 by a team that includes veterans who previously worked on Blue Archive. It was previously confirmed for mobile, PC and consoles, making it a considerably broader release than the typical mobile-first Nexon game. A release date has not yet been announced.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 runs from September 17 through September 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, with public days on September 19, 20 and 21. FAREIDOLIA will be available at the NEXON booth in Hall 7-C04.
