Modern Warfare 4 Drops 'Meet the New Squad' Campaign Trailer as October 23 Launch Draws Near

Activision and Infinity Ward have released the official "Meet the New Squad" Campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, giving players their first proper look at the characters who will carry the game's single-player story when the shooter launches on October 23.

The roughly one-minute trailer introduces the US and ROK marine forces that anchor Modern Warfare 4's campaign. Infinity Ward uses a routine patrol mission to set up the new squad, with the trailer leaning on banter and quiet downtime between the soldiers before the action ramps up. One running gag is a music debate among the operators, which the developers have used to give each new squad member a clearer personality before the mission proper begins.

Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Battle.net, Steam, and Xbox on PC). Pre-orders remain open ahead of release, and Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are scheduled to go live on August 26.

The trailer is the latest pre-release beat for the game ahead of its two-weekend beta. Activision's official Call of Duty blog has confirmed that the Modern Warfare 4 Early Access Beta runs from August 21 to August 25 for players who pre-order on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, or PC, while the wider Open Beta runs from August 28 to September 1 across all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2 with no pre-order required. The full reveal of the game's multiplayer suite, including maps, modes and operators, is expected during the Call of Duty: NEXT broadcast on August 21, which will be followed immediately by the Early Access Beta for the first time.

Infinity Ward and Activision have not yet shared full campaign details beyond the squad shown in the trailer. More information, including mission structure and runtime, is expected closer to launch.

Watch the official trailer on the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 site and keep an eye on the Modern Warfare 4 Forward Operating Blog for ongoing updates.
