Jin Sakai Returns in Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted, the New Roguelike Mode Coming to Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition on October 1

Sucker Punch Productions confirmed during its September 3 State of Play that Jin Sakai, the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima, will return as a playable character in Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted, the single-player roguelike combat survival mode included in the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition launching October 1, 2026 worldwide via patch v.2.0.

In a PlayStation Blog post signed by Senior Communications Manager Andrew Goldfarb, Sucker Punch detailed the four-character roster for Most Wanted. Atsu leads with dual katanas, Oyuki wields a kusarigama with chain and kunai alongside smoke-based powers, and Nagato, a new character from Atsu's past, brings heavy weapons including a yari, tanzutsu, yumi and hankyu. Jin Sakai is the fourth playable character, and Sucker Punch rebuilt his model from the Ghost of Tsushima base to keep him faithful while applying upgrades to match Ghost of Yōtei's animation fidelity. Jin retains all four Ghost of Tsushima katana stances, starts with a Sticky Bomb and hankyu, and brings back the Dance of Wrath Ultimate and Ghost Stance Kill Streak.

Most Wanted runs are structured around bounties. Players pick a target from a board, fight through waves and minibosses, collect coins, and spend them on perks that cover weapon mastery, gear loadouts, summons, parry abilities and survivability. Each run escalates in difficulty, with the hardest run culminating in a showdown against Lord Saito. Coins can also be spent outside of runs on weapon upgrades, charms and additional character unlocks. According to Goldfarb, "the joy of the mode comes from finding unexpected synergies between perk combinations."

The Complete Edition arrives the same day and bundles the base game, the Ghost of Yōtei Legends online co-op mode, the previously released Digital Deluxe content, and the Charm of Hokkyokusei with access to Most Wanted and the new Echoes of Sekigahara narrative expansion on October 1. Existing owners can pre-order the Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99, and anyone who pre-orders by September 30 receives an early unlock of the Sakai Armor for Atsu on day one. All Ghost of Yōtei owners will also receive a free patch on October 1 adding the Beauty of Yōtei mode, additional Watanabe Mode tracks, photo mode stamps, an armor transmog option and a high-contrast accessibility setting.
