Imagineer Opens Global Pre-Registration for Medabots S on Mobile

Imagineer Co., Ltd. has officially opened global pre-registration for Medabots S on iOS and Android, marking the first time the long-running Medabots franchise is moving outside Japan on mobile. The company confirmed the rollout through the official Medabots S account on September 4, and pre-registration pages are now live on both major app stores worldwide.

Medabots S adapts the series' tactical "Robattle" system to smartphones. Players collect and assemble their own Medabots from Head, Right Arm, Left Arm, and Leg parts slotted onto a "Tinpet" frame, then insert a Medal that acts as the robot's brain. In combat, each round is a 3v3 command selection: players issue orders to individual parts, watch their Medabots act in sequence, and try to destroy the enemy leader's head part for the win. The global edition adds a new original story mode alongside returning characters from across the franchise's history, including fan favorites such as Metabee and Rokusho.

The Japanese version of Medabots S has been live since 2020 and already features more than 320 different Medabots, with past collaborations spanning Digimon, Mega Man Battle Network, and Ultraman. Imagineer has not yet announced a hard launch date for the global build. The official App Store listing carries an "Expected Jan 21, 2027" placeholder, and Google Play currently lists the title as "Pre-register" without a release date. Pre-registration will unlock launch rewards once the game goes live.

The global expansion is one of the more notable mobile revivals of a nostalgia-heavy JRPG brand in recent years. Imagineer, a Tokyo-based developer better known for the Medabots series and games like Rilakkuma Farm, is leaning on the franchise's still-strong recognition among players who grew up with the late-1990s anime and the original Game Boy and DS entries.

Players can pre-register now through the official App Store and Google Play pages. More details, including launch timing and any pre-registration milestone rewards, are expected closer to release.
