Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Relic Expedition Trailer Details Norgan's Hunt, Appraise, Forge Loop Ahead of October 9 Launch

Capcom has published a four-minute Relic Expedition Gameplay Overview for Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, breaking down the hunt, appraise, forge loop that will power the open-world RPG's first paid expansion when it arrives on October 9, 2026. The trailer also lands alongside a free Dragon's Dogma 2 title update that adds frame-rate improvements, additional save slots and an expanded number of assignable weapon skills for every existing owner.

Set in Norgan, a frozen northern region that was once prosperous and is now littered with the timeworn relics of an ancient war, the Relic Expedition Cycle turns the Norgandian Settlement into the player's home base. From there, Arisen stock up on provisions, enhance their gear and rest before heading out into the frost-covered wastes to bring back unidentified relics. Beorcan warriors guard their firepits with lethal intent, the Norgan Giant can entomb adventurers in ice with a single breath, and the ice dragon Fimbl hoards relics of "more profound potential." Combat is not the only path to power, as abandoned settlements and hidden caves reward curious explorers, and the settlement's resident direwolf Freki can guide Arisen to spoils in exchange for a prime cut of meat.

Once back at the settlement, the matron Jiera appraises the haul. Identical-looking relics can appraise into wildly different weapons and armor, with higher-rarity pieces offering stronger stats and the chance to bestow new abilities or refine skills the Arisen and their main Pawn already possess. The system is a clear callback to the original Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and is built around the same principle that made that 2013 expansion so replayable: every expedition is a dice roll, every return home is an upgrade.

Capcom has confirmed October 9 as the global release date. The standalone Dark Arisen Expansion will be sold for $29.99 to existing owners on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, which bundles the base game with the expansion content, will arrive on the same day for $49.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch 2, marking the franchise's debut on Nintendo's current-generation hardware. Capcom has previously confirmed that the Switch 2 version runs at a minimum of 30 FPS, with pre-orders unlocking the Norgan Fashion Set — Northern Attire in in-game storage at launch.

Today's free title update, which began rolling out alongside the trailer, lifts the base game to a smoother performance target, adds extra save slots and increases the number of assignable weapon skills per slot, giving returning players a reason to dust off their Arisen before the expansion drops next month. Capcom also confirmed that Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be playable on the show floor at Tokyo Game Show 2026 later this month.
