Code Vein II Mask of Idris DLC Launches September 9 Alongside Free Version 2.0 Update for All Owners
Bandai Namco has launched the Mask of Idris DLC for Code Vein II, adding the Forsaken World chapter with new partners Liv Voda and an alternate Lou, two new Formae, and a free Version 2.0 update that finally brings the partner system into the post-game for every owner.

The Mask of Idris expansion for Code Vein II goes live worldwide on September 9, 2026, delivering the action RPG's first major post-game chapter on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam alongside a simultaneous free Version 2.0 update that opens the base game's empty post-credits world to every owner.
As confirmed in the official Bandai Namco Entertainment America announcement and a publisher message from director Hiroshi Yoshimura and producer Keita Iizuka, Mask of Idris sends Revenant Hunters into the Forsaken World, a remnant realm stitched together from the residual emotions of timelines erased by the protagonist's earlier time-travel interventions. At the centre of the new map sits the Spindle of Pathos, a colossal vortex of accumulated feeling that now threatens to bleed into the protagonists' reality.
The expansion arrives with two new partners that bookend the combat spectrum. Liv Voda, the half-sister of series character Valentin Voda and the original guardian of the Temporal Rift, anchors the aggressive side of the system. She fights in close quarters with a halberd, chains her Chariot Rave Formae into rapid melee combos, and brings the support Formae Mad Blood Dance, which buffs her own and the protagonist's attack power on every successful hit. The second partner, a different Lou Magmell from an erased history, slots into a support role whose full kit Bandai Namco says will be revealed as the story unfolds.
Two new Formae round out the combat additions. Grave Knocker is a group-controlling martial arts technique designed for crowd control against the Forsaken World's new enemy types, while the flame-imbued Sword of Karma extends the game's elemental options in single-target boss fights. The chapter is gated behind a clear progression checkpoint: players must reach the Luna Fraterna ending of the main campaign and complete the sub-mission "Valentin's Request" before the new content unlocks, a design choice Bandai Namco describes as a way to keep the post-game from being skipped over.
The free Version 2.0 update lands for every Code Vein II owner, paid DLC or not, and addresses the most common criticism of the base game: the desertion of the partner system once the credits roll. The headline addition is The Age of Harmony, a series of partner-driven episodes that lets players traverse the post-game world with their established companions and unlock individual story moments for each one. Trials of Remembrance adds consecutive boss rematches with rewards that include more than 90 new character customization parts, while Jadwiga becomes available as a summonable partner. A story-focused mode, a Legacy character shader inspired by the anime-style rendering of the original Code Vein, and expanded Photo Mode options round out the patch.
Mask of Idris is sold separately and is also included with the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of Code Vein II. More details on the free update's full patch notes will arrive later, per the publisher, but the September 9 launch is the moment where the action RPG's post-game finally feels built out rather than tacked on.
