Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 Launches Today With Loveless the Hacker, Bounty Pack 5, and a Free Level Cap Bump

Borderlands 4 receives its biggest content drop since launch today. Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort, the new playable Vault Hunter Loveless the Hacker, Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows, and the free Version 1.10 title update are all live on PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, 2K and Gearbox Software confirmed in the Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 launch announcement on the official 2K newsroom.

The headline addition for most players is the free Version 1.10 update, which raises the maximum Vault Hunter level from 60 to 70 and adds ten new skill points to redistribute across every existing build. Every Borderlands 4 owner gets that automatically.

Story Pack 2 itself is set on Providence, a tropical resort island built around a volcano that the Tediore corporation has turned into a military base to secure the rare resource Ordonite. Players team up with FL4K, the Borderlands 3 beastmaster returning as an NPC, to rescue their kidnapped skag companion Mr. Chew. The new zone brings zip-line traversal, dynamic volcanic eruptions that spawn field bosses mid-exploration, two new Pearlescent weapons, 18 new Legendary items, and a boss lineup that ends with Lieutenant Harmony and five Tediore managers. Story Pack 2 is priced at $19.99 USD.

Loveless the Hacker is the headline new character. An ex-Anshin systems infiltrator turned assassin, Loveless shares her mind with a sentient digital virus she created herself, called Wyrm, which can digistruct into physical form on the battlefield. Her core Action Skills split into Hack/Slash for precision-and-stealth play and Manifestation for summoning Wyrm to attack and reposition. The kit leans into crits, status effects, Corrosive and Radiation damage, and a RAM resource bar that powers up her next melee strike when fully charged. Loveless is a deliberate answer to the assassin archetype that has been missing since Zer0 in Borderlands 2, Gearbox player-character design director Nick Thurston told outlets ahead of launch. Loveless is available as a standalone purchase for $9.99 and is also bundled into the Borderlands 4 Vault Hunter Pack and Super Deluxe Edition.

Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows sends players back to Elpis and the Phase dimension to investigate Phase disturbances alongside the Siren Amara. The new mission unlocks a Vault Hunter Skin usable by every class, a vehicle, an ECHO-4 Drone Skin, a new boss, two mini-bosses, new Vile enemy types, a Pearlescent weapon, and six pieces of Legendary loot. The pack is $5.99 USD, and a companion Vault Card 5 with 24 cosmetics and four rerollable gear pieces ships at the same price.

Starting today, players can also buy Story Pack 1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, C4SH the Rogue, Bounty Pack 2: Legend of the Stone Demon, and Vault Card 2 individually for the first time. Previously only Bounty Pack 3 onward were available à la carte.

The drop lands on the same day as Marvel Rivals Season 10 (September 11, UTC) and the WARDOGS Steam Early Access launch, all major live-service and DLC milestones stacking into one of the busiest release windows of the fall. Gearbox has also said today's update marks the end of the current post-launch roadmap for Borderlands 4.
